006. This Girl is on fire

006. This Girl is on fire

This girl is on fire! You may have seen that scene from Hunger Games where a girl turns her dress on fire for a TV show (see link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2sXXG3tTaI).
It is quite impresive right? It is also very futuristic don´t you agree? It seems something for the far future!

But what would happen if she get burned? Keep reading ;)

in the same movie her game partner gets seriously injured and his wound is fastly healed with a creamy-like product...Sci-Fi?

Well, as soon as end of 2014 a similar product would be available in over 50 markets

Not only a product for burn healing but also to heal lacerations, diabetic foot ulcers or even surgical and chronic wounds.

As MedMarket Diligence shows there are few millions wounds going on each year:

Source: MedMarket Diligence

And is there a company behind this product? Of course there is!

And shares of this company are on any stock? Yes, and right now its shares (21/11/2013 at 16:45 CET time) are below 1$ each!
And is this company profitable enough as to invest on it? Certainly yes, according to those facts:

They increased revenues 24% over the third quarter 2013.
They spent more than 200.000 $ on R&D during that quarter.
They hold more than 4 Millions $ in intangible assets
Market capitalization is around 9 Millions $.
More than 10 Millions shares issued in common stock in 2012.
Golbally the health system is becoming aware of expenses and any product able to reduce treatments costs is suitable to be on top of its purchasing's priorities.

This company forecast a brilliant future in the mid term, so if you are a buy & hold investor and you are interested in knowing more about it, get in touch with me here:

005. It's time for Africa

005. It's time for Africa

Hola!

You surely remember the Futbol World Cup in South Africa. Maybe the offical theme (played by colombian singer Shakira) still sounds familiar to you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRpeEdMmmQ0

That song was about Futbol. It was? Not really...Africa is waking up and its time is coming:
Africa as a whole is much bigger than US, China, Europe, India and Japan together (see chart: http://0.tqn.com/d/goafrica/1/0/b/Q/true-size-of-africa.jpg ).
However its relevance when talking about business is far smaller.
It is just a matter of time that African population grows to an outstanding level (see chart: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2013/07/16/the-amazing-surprising-africa-driven-demographic-future-of-the-earth-in-9-charts/ ).
Its population is becoming aware of IT benefits such as tablets for agricultural or educational uses, feature phones and a fast internet connection (see article: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-11-11/vodacom-first-half-profit-rose-11-as-data-revenue-gains.html ).

Hence it is a clever idea to have shares of african customer-oriented companies developping such products. Even better if such companies ar inland ones understanding its market at its best!
This post gives an overall idea about one of this companies. We will present it as a Teaser with some relevant figures:

1. Capital of USD 500,000.
2. Branched out in the design of general public products (tactile tablet and Smartphone).
3. Products are designed with Africa-centered values, added up to a price accessible to the general public.

004. World War III

WAR?

What a word! Lately we have heard that word frequently...it is even possible to find some well recognized writter who announces the World War III is on its way.

However this post is not politically intended but it is just focused to new technologies investments.
Hence we will speak about what is going on in the new-technologies sector due to war-boosted researches.
Despite all its inconvenients each time a war is carried out it means billions on technology investments, so billions in afterwards profits:

During the Great War or World War I Gillette put millions of razors and blades on U.S. soldiers hands. That was a new (on that time) technology, developed to produce hard, thin and unexpensive steel. Later on this new product sat a standard for its sector. No needs of details about what Gillete has become nowadays...

The WWII is to be condemned due to the millions of innocent lives it took away. Said so, it is well known how WWII favoured the development of the Radio, Penicillin, or Nuclear power among other important innovations that are commonly used today. Hundreds of companies were created to develop and sell products born to this technology revolution.
Wish you could have an investment chance in companies created at that time?

Recently wars as Afghanistan one showed us new products like the Drones. That unmanned aircraft used to fly with no danger to the pilot. There are so many companies involved in new drones development, not only oil powered Drones but solar powered ones, too. Such development processes and researches are commonly state funded hence the army forces could benefit of these new products.

But what would happen after a massive drones-guided war? How many possibilites will become a reality after such a huge boost in this technology?

Recently companies as Deutsche Bahn bought some drones to fight against vandalism in its trains (link is in german language). They spent nearly 90.000$ in drones to avoid graffity cleaning on its trains which costs them aproximately 1M$ per year.

Just like blades and razors a hundred years ago did, new technologies as Drones will become soon part of our daily lives.
Think of a home delivery food business. You order a good hawaiian pizza online and within minutes a small drone fly it to your balcony.
Imagine a dangerous fire on the 100th floor of your office wich is quickly extinguished by a team of fire-fighter drones.

Let your imagination fly as a Drone. A thousand new opportunities are flying us to the future.

If you are interested on companies developping such products, take a glance here:

Now that you have a couple more ideas why not trying to invest? ;)

Good luck!

Back to the Future.

Good and sunny afternoon from Madrid.

Do you remember the movie "Back to the Future"?
That movie in which a boy was riding in a DeLorean, programmed a future date, accelerated and ... bam! He traveled to the future!
One of the dates programmed was 2015. 2015! that's within a year and a half! To this date we imagined flying cars and skateboards, self-adjusting jackets or holographic ads (like the Jaws 19) :)
Just a year and a half of this date we dont fly in cars or runners (maybe motorcycles), jackets still not self-adjust in size and there are only ads with holography using 3D glasses.

However there is a product that represents the future, the SmartWatch:

There are few companies that have been working on new smartwatches prototypes (see models from Samsung, Apple, LG and Sony).

But I am not referring to the future as a clock compatible with your phone or tablet, otherwise the future as accesories that react to the touch to provide information to the user.
A watch is only the beginning, then come rings, ties, gloves, cups ... anything that is touchable by the human hand is capable of being "smart"!

Imagine that you are taking a bath in a large tub with bubbles with your couple ... you both are comfortably embraced while watching the water falls. Suddenly, you touch one of the tiles in the bathroom and it reacts as a touch screen from which you can program water temperature, the amount of bubbles, the aroma that suits you ... and even a movie you will see reflected on the tiles in front to you, those that are over the tap.

THIS IS THE FUTURE to which I refer. The touch technology that overcome gadgets and definitely appear on our daily lives, bathrooms, kitchens, cars (flying or not), desks, clothes ... everything can be tactile, intelligent, smart.

But how is this possible? Which companies are those that point to this future? Who are the groups of people who do research in this way and offer considerable commitments to this lifestyle?

Well, if you must know, you are reading the right blog!

Here there are a couple of companies with their stock symbol and current traded value ,with a strong relationship with the technologies that will enable this encouraging "back to the future":

Lenovo / LNVGY / $ 18.91 *. Touchscreens manufacturers.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing / TSM / $ 15,795 *. Semiconductors manufacturers.

Now that you have a couple more ideas why not trying? ;)

Good luck!

Best regards, Hugo P. Lisbona.

Lenovo / LNVGY / $18.91*. Fabricantes de pantallas táctiles.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing / TSM / $15.795*.

Suerte!

Un saludo, Hugo P. Lisbona.

Gowex, free WiFi for All.

Hello IT investors.

A recently contract signed between Gowex and Brazil's Government catched my attention:

Gowex is a small (right now, we will see certainly its growth soon) spanish company.
Its business? To give free WiFi connection to large cities.
This company is not yet on the IBEX but since few years ago until now is stocking in the MAB and the NYSE alternext. Since its begining it has experimented a 400% growth. Not so little right?

There is a powerfull attraction to Investors in Brazil despite its raids and protests. They are preparing both the Olimpics and a Football World Cup. That is not new, I know.
But that the Government plan to offer free WiFi conection in every major city it is new.

The contract signed between both parts give to Gowex a HUGE market to grow. Its jump into the Stock must be inside its sight. And our eyes should be watching this jumping.

I will keep an eye on this option as well on others tech-related candies.

001. KODAK: the future Master of touchscreens?

Hello IT Investors.

In this first post we are going to speak about Kodak; the yesteryear Giant is now not so big...but a giant can always stand up once more.

The reason to write that down lays in two facts:

1. Kodak engineers are testing a new solution to produce flexible touchscreens.

2. Kodak has received recently a fund valued in 300 Millions Dollars.

We will go further on those points:

ONE.

Due to my job I research constantly on new technologies. Specially on IT tech.
It was researching about new possibilities to manufacture flexible touchscreens when I discovered something really appealing...
Maybe you have heard about flexible touchscreens that can be bended and twisted like paper does. Possibly you have heard about Graphene as one of the materials that could make possible that bending...

But have you heard about the photo film-based flexible screens?

Kodak is deeply involved in this possibilty as they are world leaders in photo films production. Now they could produce flexible touchscreens using these photo films as a base.

Has your smartphone or tablet dropped off lately? It hurts you when its screen cracks...and it is not cheap to repair.
Hence just imagine replacing your screen as easily as we could buy a photo film for an analogic camara.
That is the strenght of Kodak who can be leading on the flexible touchscreens market very soon.

TWO.

As a hobby I constantly read about investments. Specially about technology related ones. It was listening to a economic show few days ago when I heard a stunning news...
Recently Nasdaq announced three hundred millions american dollars (300.000.000 $) funding to Kodak. This would pay off their debt and will boost their business options once more.

That is not pocket money!

There is a big market opportunity ahead regarding flexible touchscreens.
Google already master the software market with its Android and now it is heading to its hardware leadership with its Motorola purchase.

They will need a partner to provide them with flexible screens. And you can bet that Kodak will fight hard to become one of them.

For those two reasons I recommend investing in Kodak asap.

001. KODAK. El nuevo líder de las pantallas flexibles.

Hola inversores en tecnologías IT.
